Our Valentines Dinner was amazing, La Serre has a beautiful aesthetic and the food was impeccable and impressive and the drinks were amazing as well! But the highlight was the service my girlfriend and I received when we had issues getting in due to the weather and were late for our reservation. Wendolyn was able to move things around and still get us in at the bar and made sure we still had a wonderful Valentine’s. We are incredibly appreciative and will be back, and will be telling everyone we know they need to come as well!

I made my reservation in December for Valantine Day. I ask for a special table. I was told they would try to accommodate me. I had no problem with that. What I am mad about is that the sat us at the smallest table in the restaurant. I did say something and did not get a response from anyone. This is not a Lettuce type management deal. I top of that a table next to us kept increasing the volume of talking louder. The other table was fine. We eat at Lettuce restaurants all the time. Management and service always concerned about their client's well-being.

I have so many nice things to say about dining at Obelix that i may need more space. First, the staff. There is no better trained, personable, knowledgable, and efficient team in Chicago. From the host, to the bartender, wait staff, and servers everyone knows they are there to ensure MY experience is memorable. They delivered beautifully. Next, the fabulous food. You get your first glimpse of what's to come when you enter the restaurant and see the kitchen. Choosing your meal is a challenge because everything sounds so delicious. With the help of our waiter we had escargot, pate, duck confit, and frites. The bartender helped us select an amazing champagne that you've never had of, and yet was better than the usual names on a menu. We concluded our meal with fromage and apple. The room acoustics are perfect. A full dining room and background music did not inhibit conversation despite the windows and concrete. The velvet banquets and subtle window treatment gives the room warmth as well as sound mitigation. Every detail is spot on. A great experience.

I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the entire team for their outstanding service. A special thanks to Jonathan, Mathiew, and the lovely hostesses Christina and Madeleine, as well as my attentive server Edgar and his diligent busser Louis. A heartfelt shout out to Chef Taus, who truly deserves high praise for crafting such an extraordinary dinner! Every team member went above and beyond to create a truly memorable experience. If only there were a 6* star option! You really rolled out the red carpet for me!
