Best French Restaurants in Mission Beach

Friend and I visited for the Thanksgiving prix fixe dinner. It was absolutely fantastic. We ordered the lamb shank, beef filet, and added the sweet potatoes. Our onion soup and blackened shrimp appetizer choices were delicious. The pumpkin cake and apple pastry desserts were so good. The overall standout was definitely the lamb shank. Unbelievably delicious. The wine list is incredible and we complemented dinner with a lovely Napa Cabernet. The service was excellent and absolutely what you would expect. Bill, was a delight and even took a few photos of us for my visiting friend. Thank you for a wonderful Thanksgiving!

My sister and I decided to spend our Thanksgiving lunch at Le Coq in La Jolla, and it was an absolutely incredible experience. From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed with warmth and a sophisticated yet cozy ambiance that set the tone for our holiday meal. Our waiter, Chris, went above and beyond to make our visit exceptional. He was attentive, knowledgeable, and made fantastic recommendations that elevated our dining experience. His professionalism and genuine friendliness added a personal touch that made our Thanksgiving lunch feel truly special. The food was exquisite, with every dish showcasing the perfect balance of flavor, creativity, and presentation. Each bite felt like a celebration, and it was clear that great care and passion went into crafting the menu. Le Coq is a gem in La Jolla, and it made our holiday memorable in the best way possible. Wonderful! Outstanding menu and food. We are outside under the awning and heat lamp due to having our dog along. Totally comfortable. The 4 of us all loved our Caesars and mains: beef bourgnoin, duck, and the small mignon filets. The profiteroles were amazing.

Our server was very cordial and helpful. The food was delicious and plentiful, including a delicious house made French bread. All the entrees were very reasonably priced. Highly recommend The French Gourmet!

Food and service could not have been better. Food was beautiful and delicious. The bronzino with potato scales was fabulous. Service perfect...but my date thought they maybe needed an additional server....since it was Thanksgiving week I let that slide a little. I would have preferred less light in the restaurant, but since it is a bistro and some people like more light...it is just a personal preference. Overall a great night to celebrate a birthday.
