The Plough isn't your average countryside pub. Sitting on a quiet lane in a quintessentially English village, The Plough was set to be sold off the developers when 120 members of the community came together to invest, and save, their local. After its purchase and renovation, the Yates family took over the kitchen and opened the pub's small, but proud, restaurant, Bowleys. Head Chef Alex Yates is still very early on in his career but though only in his early twenties, he has already spent two years in the kitchens at The Goring Hotel in London, as well as having gained experience with Rick Stein and even once cooking for the Queen. We booked a 12o/c table so it was quieter with extremely efficient service. The food was amazing!!! I had a small roast which was plenty for me and delicious. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive in the restaurant as well as the bar. Loved the Teepee ambiance and it was a great temperature - not too hot and not chilly, just right. Very cosy and welcoming. We then found a nice space to sit and enjoy a drink between the pub and the Teepee where we sat on sofas by a fire. This is my new ‘go-to’ favourite place for food, service and venue ! Just all round perfect pleasure :)
