Best Contemporary Italian Restaurants in Palisades Northwest

I knew the portions would be large for 2-3 people but it was larger than expected! I went with a party of 3 and we all had leftovers. We got one appetizer, one pasta, and one shrimp dish. The complimentary bread was great too! Everything was very good! We ordered portobello parmigiana, penne alla vodka, and shrimp diavolo. Everything was very flavorful.

Very nice ambiance, cozy for date night or very comfortable for a family dinner or group. Food is excellent, menu has something for everyone.

What we ate was very good, but it is a limited menu with a lot of sausage and peppers on the menu, neither of which I like. I didn't find much on the menu that appealed to me so it was hard to order. I ended up eating a salad and an appetizer. My companion had a basic salad and pasta dish with sausage which was good. Pizza choices were good, but I wasn't in the mood for so much starch for dinner. At first we were shown seats next to a right next to a couple when there were many open seats, then shown seats next to a table of 6 - so I suggested a table at the end which was a table away from the first couple. These days, I prefer to keep my privacy and germs away from others - especially when the restaurant was probably 80% empty. Service was very good; prices relatively high for a very average-looking, boring atmosphere. I really wanted to like it more but doubt I'll be back unless it's for a lunch or menu changes

I keep returning to San Lorenzo for its excellent food, very fine service and delightful atmosphere. My veal chop was of the highest quality, and the squash blossom is a personal favorite. There’s a very good, but overly expensive, wine list. The staff are very knowledgeable and quite friendly. I’ll be back.

Our service was excellent. When we asked about the wine by the glass, he had the sommelier come to discuss the choices which was super helpful. Our dinners were excellent, both the appetizers and the mains. Their brodetto is one of the best dishes we’ve experienced in DC.
