Best Contemporary French American Restaurants in Central Austin

We took the day off work to celebrate my birthday with lunch at Nido, and it was a fantastic experience! The views were absolutely breathtaking, and the food was just as impressive. My husband ordered the burger, while I went with the BEC Sammy—and both were perfection. I couldn’t resist the Dessert Dove cocktail—it was so delicious I ended up having two! The fries with aioli were delightful, and the brioche was toasted to perfection. To top it all off, they surprised me with an on-the-house, deconstructed tiramisu for my birthday, which was such a thoughtful touch. Our waiter was phenomenal—attentive, friendly, and made the experience even more enjoyable. The only note I’d share is that since it’s December, it’s a bit chilly outside. They only had three heaters working, so we had to move to a table with a heater. It wasn’t a big deal, but it’s worth keeping in mind if the outdoor area gets busy. Overall, such a wonderful way to celebrate—I’d highly recommend it!

Everything was spot on from the food to the care of service from the smiles from the valet and hostess to the attentiveness from the back waiters, General Manager and especially the server. Thank you for making our 12th anniversary memorable. We will return to try the chefs other incantations! Thank you again, you deserve any accolade awarded to you! P.s. The Chef can cook great French food. Restaurant needs marketing though

Wink is a longtime favorite, but we hadn’t been in a while. We returned for our 26th wedding anniversary and were reminded why Wink is one of Austin’s absolute gems. Vincent and his service team are impeccable… attentive and knowledgeable but never invasive. And the food is truly outstanding. We had the five-course tasting menu and it was dreamy. Wink made our anniversary dinner more special than we could ever have expected.
