- LLornaCalgary / Southern Alberta •16 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoIt was a quiet Wednesday night at The Living Room, we sat at a nice table for two by the fire. We ordered Vitelli tonado for an appetizer, it was lovely and just enough to share. I had the lamb shank, it was excellent and very rich with mashed potatoes and gravy. It fell off the bone. My friend had salmon, also cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious. We didn’t have dessert. Josh was our waiter and was perfect. We waited for nothing, he was there exactly when we needed him. Aaron was the bartender, and he was delightful!! We had their famous “shafts” a great little pick me up; we also had winter wine, like a sangria only prettier and in a martini glass. Cool place, great ambiance. Can’t wait to go back!More infoThe Living Room RestaurantPrice: Moderate• Contemporary French / American• Downtown•4.5
- JJennyCalgary / Southern Alberta •3 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoYou guys HAVE to try Ten Foot Henry! We had such an amazing dinner here - literally everything we tried was a hit. The tuna crudo was perfect, and don't sleep on their gochujang cauliflower (perfectly cooked, not mushy at all). The steak was just chef's kiss - they clearly use top-quality meat and know exactly how to cook it. But can we talk about that chicken? SO juicy with this incredible sauce that had us all swooning. The pastas were total winners too - both the cacio e pepe spaghetti and the gigli were delish. And okay, this might sound weird, but their CABBAGE dish was mind-blowing! Even my toddler couldn't get enough, which is saying something! Quick heads up for parents - while this isn't really a kid-focused spot (definitely no chicken fingers or coloring books here), we actually had a great time with our little one. Just come prepared with a backup plan for takeout if things get squirmy. The vibe is definitely more adult and it's usually packed, but our kiddo surprised us by loving everything! Make sure you save room for dessert - the cheesecake cream puffs were the perfect sweet ending. Only tiny downside is it gets pretty loud in there, so expect to raise your voice a bit across the table. But honestly? Totally worth it for food this good!More infoTen Foot HenryPrice: Expensive• Contemporary Canadian• Calgary•4.8
- GGabrielleGold Coast •2 reviews5.0Dined on Dec 28, 2024We were travel weary and wanted a good brunch before an afternoon snooze. Google pointed us to River Cafe and to our delight, it was perfect in every way. The views outside, the ambience, the staff, the food = perfection. The only thing that would bring me back to Calgary (sorry, Calgary) is the thought of another meal at River Cafe.More infoRiver CaféPrice: Expensive• Canadian• Calgary•4.6
- KKevinCalgary / Southern Alberta •21 reviews5.0Dined on Dec 22, 2024Relaxing experience for their Christmas tea. Service was good and the food was excellent - very nice variety of savoury and sweet. The ambiance of the Loughheed House added to the specialness of the occasion.More infoThe Restaurant at Lougheed HousePrice: Very Expensive• Canadian• Beltline•4.4
- OTOpenTable DinerAlabama •14 reviews4.0Dined on Jun 30, 2024Fries portion with burger was pretty small comparing… and otherwise regular tasting, so only 3* for this. also had rigatoni and a yuzu salad. Latter was great, however the chicken again fairly small. Service was nice, but forgot the starter completely without even noticing or mentioning. As the main had already arrived we decided not to insist. On the positive side, the ambience is lovely and the food came fast, and even the soft refills without even asking. So overall a 4*More infoNational on 17thPrice: Moderate• Canadian• Downtown•4.5
