Lunch that was only meant to be one course but turned into 4 (!). Exceptional quality and simple authentic French cooking. Try the steak tartare and cassoulet. But it's the personal service and welcome that makes this place stand out. We're lucky to have Bavette.

It was my husband’s 60th birthday and we had booked the table back in November. I had emailed the restaurant asking if they could have a bottle of non alcoholic fizz to welcome us. I had forgotten to send a reminder - but I needn’t have worried! We were warmly welcomed by all the staff and the bottle cork was popped when we had sat down. Perfect! The food was delicious. Freshly cooked and beautifully presented on warm plates. Perfect. (It’s amazing how many restaurants serve food on a cold plate). It was our first visit and it certainly won’t be our last.

Very snowy day so received a call in the morning to confirm we would be still coming. Was good too see all the snow had been cleared from the road and car park. Both of us chose a simple chicken and mustard salad which was delicious with plenty of freshly cooked chicken and Parmesan shavings. Great service from Shaun .

Stood for a while servers walked past which would be good even just one to say we will be with you in a minute so could be improved however did help with buggy down steps which was kind.

Wonderful evening, had 6 of the small plate, which a tad too much. Fave dish wre the steak and Carrot salad. Superb service.
