Best Bistros in Handforth

Simple room with open kitchen. Service is friendly, informed and professional. Excellent choice of dishes on the lunchtime menu. Everything was delicious, portion size perfect. Chicken liver parfait among the best I've ever tasted. Main was cod, beautifully cooked and presented, with hazelnuts and pickled shallots adding to the variety of flavours and textures. Wine is good value, given quality.

A very pleasant, relaxing place to enjoy lunch on a miserable day. The attentive staff were welcoming, helpful and friendly (even sorting out a problem at the adjacent public car park!). They knew it was a joint birthday celebration so produced a plate with Happy Birthday written in chocolate handwriting with some elegant pieces of fudge. A very nice gesture. The food was beautifully presented and all cooked to a high standard. The duck confit, for example, was moist and tender with lovely flavour. There is quite a wide range of dishes so plenty of choice to suit everyone from the two or three course lunch menu. A classy but unpretentious restaurant. Highly recommended!

Fantastic as every other time we’ve visited! Our waitress was excellent and also made the nicest espresso martini’s. We didn’t get her name unfortunately, but hopefully you’ll know who you are when I say we had about 12 of them! Thanks so much :D

My second time and as good as the first. Sadly the slow cooked venison shoulder was not on the menu but the sea bass proved an admirable alternative. Excellent dishes, not overly fancy, but ingredients well matched and flavoursome. The top to tail philosophy is clever and appropriate. Highly recommended.

Food was delicious, staff very welcoming, would have stayed for dessert if we’d have had time.
