Carmine's is a family style restaurant offering exceptional value to its guests through the many dishes of Southern Italian cuisine. Restaurateur Artie Cutler crafted Carmine's with a singular vision; bringing his guests abundant portions and making any meal feel like an Italian American wedding feast. Platters of made to order pasta, decadent seafood or meat entrees, and of course homemade desserts are all staples at Carmine's, meant for sharing among friends and family. Carmines has become a Christmas tradition and yesterday didn’t disappoint. We had plenty of delicious food, a waitress who was attentive but not overbearing. a table that allowed for conversation and time to enjoy our dinner.

Always a good time and the consistency between restaurants is evident. We just returned from their location in Vegas and the experience was remarkably similar.

The restaurant was absolutely hopping when I arrived, and pretty much stayed that way during the meal. Once seated, things went very well. The server was absolutely outstanding: friendly, the right amount of attentive, and helpful with suggestions. She made the experience a very nice one. Thanks (and sorry I didn't ask for your name so I could give you a shout out). I had pasta with a white clam sauce, which was very nice. The staff warned me repeatedly that the portions were very generous, and they were right. I was no where near finishing my enormous portion, and since I was staying at a hotel in town, unable to take the rest away with me. The wines and drinks selection was nice, and the house Pinot Grigio I ordered meshed very well with my pasta. I would recommend Carmine's for anyone wanting a very hearty meal in a friendly, lively environment. I'll go back there next time I am in DC.
