We love this restaurant! It is our favorite place to go for special occasions. Saeed and Ocean never disappoint. For the quality of this restaurant, it is a great value for the price. Be sure to have the Irish Coffee! It is a show.

My wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary there last night. We met on a blind date there fourteen years ago. We no longer live in the area but happened to be back for the holidays. So we returned to Cage Renaissance with fond memories. We were thrilled to confirm that Cafe remains the wonderfully beautiful, romantic, great food and service restaurant we remembered. Northern Virginia is very fortunate to have such a perfect place to dine.

Environment was pleasant though crowded. Chairs and tables were not matched and silverware was not consistent. Food was good, but could have been better. Halibut was well cooked and tasty. Seafood angel hair pasta was mediocre w/o much flavor. Service was terrible. Our waiter took 30 min to provide us w/menus and wine list. After we ordered he took another 20 min to bring out our wine. Each course and interaction w/him was with lengthy delays. We had 6:30 reservation and did not leave until 9:15pm. It was not because we were lingering. I would not recommend this restaurant unless you have lots of time and patience.

Cafe Renaissance is a true little gem within the heart of Northern Virginia. We've lived in the region for over 20 years, and we didn't realize it was there until 2 years ago when I stumbled upon it on TripAdvisor and booked a table for my wife's birthday. We've been hooked ever since by the warmth and generosity of the owner, the impeccable service, and the outstanding food. The restaurant is nondescript on the outside -- on the outside, it looks like just another storefront in an old strip mall on the main street running through Vienna, Virginia. As soon as we walked in for the first time two years ago, we were struck by all the fresh flowers on every table, the decoration, and overall decor that reminded us of an old, backstreet bistro in France or taverna in Italy. The food that first dinner two years ago was phenomenal. Authentic and delicious French cuisine served quickly with an extensive wine list to pair. The best part was how welcoming the owner made us feel. We ended up sitting with the owner that night until almost closing time. Since then, we've brought friends and family back for special occasions, and we've been impressed every single time. Last night's dinner (Dec 2024) with our two guests was just as enjoyable as the first time. The appetizers (escargot, pate, baked eggplants, baked oysters), the main dishes (rack of lamb, veal, cod, duck breast), freshly-made-from-scratch baklava (I know, not French, but out of this world!), French pastries were all timed just right for our table and absolutely delicious!!! We had never ordered Irish whiskey at this restaurant before, so when my wife ordered it, we were surprised when the owner rolled a cart up to our table and started preparing the drink from scratch. The preparation was very fun and entertaining. After the owner left, my wife tasted her drink and said that it was the best Irish whiskey she had ever had. And as before, we had the table for the entire night.

Wonderful experience. My friend and I had a lovely time. We were warmly greeted by the host, my gluten free request due to Celiac disease were respectfully handled. I had a delicious salad of burrata on heirloom tomatoes with a balsamic reduction and Coquille St. Jacques, perfectly cooked. My friend enjoyed an eggplant Parmesan appetizer and Haddock en Papiollte that looked amazing. For dessert, she had a raspberry gateaux and cream puff and I, a crème brullee and chocolate mousse. Everything was delicious. Absolutely beautiful dining area, friendly and knowledgable waitstaff. Truly, a great experience.

We had a lovely birthday dinner for me. We had the tasting menu and split a wine tasting because we both had early days the next day. The people as always were very welcoming and friendly and we had a very nice time. Thank you!
