A premier choice for fine dining in Old Town Key West.

Like Charleston and other great ports of the South, Key West offers endless inspiration for chefs. Once a stop on trade routes to the Caribbean, the island developed a signature cuisine that’s practically an open book for flavors. Pair this with the bounty from two bodies of water and the signatures of great chefs who have dedicated time here and a compelling cuisine emerges.

From its inception, Café Marquesa has led the way in expressing a unique, coastal cuisine. Our kitchen combines the finest seafood, meats, and produce with classic preparations and creativity. We offer fine dining with an authentic, homespun essence, like freshly baked bread and desserts made daily in-house. A local favorite for special occasions, and a place to settle into and savor. Every dinner layers memory upon memory. Join us and find yours.

While it has been 5 years since my last visit to Cafe Marquesa, it was as always stellar. Our server Lucas was knowledgeable, attentive and humorous. All the food was delicious and ample. I will definitely come back and recommend it to friends

We enjoyed Christmas dinner at Cafe Marquesa. The grouper and yellow tail were both excellent. Will definitely return during our next visit.

I have been going for Christmas dinner here for 10 years. All the meals were outstanding. This year a complete failure. Fried oysters were cold and soggy the grilled swordfish was cold also and tasted as if it were boiled. Very disappointed.

We have been coming to Cafe Marquesa on Christmas Eve for 15 years, but skipped it last year after a disappointing visit in 2022. We decided to give it another try and arrived on time for our 7 pm reservation. We didn’t get seated until 7:25. We had one mixed drink each at the bar ($40) and a delightful conversation with the bartender which sort of made up for the wait. One of our favorite things about the restaurant in the past was the unique variety of breads, crackers and spreads to start. This year it was a boring white bread and one pat of butter. The amuse bouche of ceviche was nice. I ordered the bibb salad - it was some greens thrown on the plate with three spiced pecans and some sad-looking radish slices - no bacon, quinoa or goat cheese in sight. Spouse had the crab cake but at $32 it was highway robbery for what you got. I ordered the yellowtail snapper - it came with a grand total of two microscopic creole shrimp, two limp fronds of broccolini, the fish was overcooked and the grits were bland. Spouse had the duck breast and found it adequate but nothing special. The service, which in the past had always been crisp and attentive, was polite but routine. We each had one glass of house wine with the meal, no dessert or coffee. Total (excluding the drinks at the bar) came to $220.00. In the past we didn’t mind the cost because the food and service was exceptional. We still love the room and the ambiance. We gave them a second chance on the food. No more. We will be starting a new Christmas Eve tradition somewhere else in 2025.

This is a must when we visit Key West! We love the food, drinks and the staff! The atmosphere is electric as people really enjoy this restaurant. I had the duck and it was cooked perfectly and the she crab soup was amazing

Good food - louder due to bar activity - it was hard to hear the waitress at time due to bar activities
