We just wanted a quick good bite, a dessert, cocktail and wine. Perfect! First time that I seat at the round table in the corner, in the dining room. It’s my new favorite, if the bar is not available.

Great food. Attentive service. Pleasant ambience. Good value. We have dined at Cafe Degas multiple times over the years and had a great experience every single time. We will return for years to come.

We had a 9:15 seating, but due to a medical emergency all of us with 9:15 seating, waited outside until the restaurant was ready and that was 10pm. I understand that emergencies can’t be avoided, but no one from the restaurant came out to explain why they were late. I heard from another patron that someone at the earlier seating had been ill and EMS was called. The food this year was not good, the lamb was overcooked, the Gigondas wine was from a different vintner and tasted bitter, and the Foie gras was very buttery on top of very hard bread. The staff person was good considering, but it seemed more like a hurried corporate party, rather than a New Year’s celebration with my wife. We will continue going to Cafe Degas, and it’s still one of favorite New Orleans restaurants. This was just a bad day or night for the restaurant.

Dined here on NYE and had a wonderful time. The prefixed menu was delicious and the wine pairings were thoughtful. The ambiance was incredible.

New Orleans French at its best: Twinkling lights, French 75’s, holiday dressed wait staff, oak tree growing through the roof, revelers passing by. The multi course wine paired meal was Lagniappe. Only issue was 30 minute wait outside for check-in. Perhaps 2 check-in stations or a mobile pre-check expediter?
