We had the hot stone with the wagu - it was great, its a cool presentation. The She crab soup is some of the best I've ever had, nice texture and flavor. My entree was the dry aged ribeye, I gotta tell you, its the best steak I've had in a long time, they use wood to cook the steaks on and its the way to go. Great service, nice people. The chef delivered our steaks and answered our questions about the steaks, he was very friendly. This is one of the best, if not the best steak houses in Charleston. You need to check it out.

This meal was one of the highlights of our visit to Charleston, thanks to our waiter, Michael, and the terrific food. I had the best filet mignon I’ve ever eaten. All four of us ordered steaks, and everyone was as delighted as I was with our meal. Michael was attentive and made sure we were enjoying each stage of the meal. He also recommended excellent wines and offered to take photos for us. What a great night - thank you Burwell’s! We will be back!

We drove from Beaufort for this experience and it was awesome. From the hostess to walking out the door was A1. The food was so good. My husband had the ribeye steak and it melted in his mouth. I actually got a couple bites. I chose the shrimp and lump crabmeat pasta. OMG it was so delectable. Great portions and our waitress was super. She anticipated our needs before spoken. The ambience and the music, old school RB was everything. We will be back.

I typically love this place, however, the bartender was EXTREMELY dismissive and rude to our group. He was very flippant in his responses, did not greet us and served everyone around us until one of us intentionally grabbed his attention. It was Clear that he was not happy we were there and when asked should we pay him or our server once seated, he literally threw his hand up and said “whatever!” We were the only ones of color in the restaurant and this guy was not a fan of “color.” We would have left, but I’ve had such other wonderful experiences there that I didn’t want to leave. I brought friends with me who have never dined there before (were locals) and was disappointed that this was their first experience. Maybe he should work at a more exclusive establishment where he doesn’t have to serve those he so obviously dislikes. Out server and the manager were both great as usual. Oysters were cold though, which was a first and pasta was very tough which was also unusual.. guess I just chose a bad day to go🤷🏽‍♀️

The food was good. The steaks seemed like they were left to sit for 20 minutes and were enjoyable but not 77 dollars worth. The problem is that if you are going to charge Ruth's Chris prices ($800 for 5 people), you have to be very good. This was good, but not something I would pay for again. The service was very good but, again, not what I have seen at Ruth's Chris and not something that I would do twice.

Exceptional restaurant. Best on the Penninsula. Over 20 years we have tried them all. Forget the stuffy go to's. Head to Burwell's. Ask for Michael. Best server around. Takes pride in his profession. He will make your night special. The owner is always on scene. He will stop by your table for sure. Burwell's goal is to make sure you have the best possible meal for the best possible price. Great vibe. Excellent happy hour. Creative meals and desserts. What are you waiting for, make a reservation.
