Rolled into Savanna on Jan 2 and found Boar's Head Grill and Tavern open for business. The location is on the waterfront and depending on where you park you might have to navigate some stairs (avoid the 'historic stairs' if you can). It was a quiet night with plenty of open tables at 7PM and the service was fast and efficient. My wife had the Sheshell Soup and BBQ shrimp. I had the Stuffed Shrimp. We enjoyed our meals very much. The ambiance of the restaurant was pretty chill with it being the 2nd. Overall, enjoyed the meal and experience. Would go back again (though there are a lot of restaurants in Savannah that look lovely).

New Year’s Eve dinner was one to remember! Great meals all around the table. I had Shrimp and Grits. It was fantastic. The food at Boar’s Head is another great reason to come back to Savannah again soon!

NYE dinner was less than our usual experience. To be fair, our party was large and no one ordered the special. One person wanted a filet mignon well done which was cautioned as difficult. Waitress said she would ask chef to butterfly, but that did not occur. So that order went back. One person’s order did not arrive until 2/3 of everyone else’s meals were completed (except the sent back filet mignon), and sautéd mushrooms did not arrive until another person’s steak was finished. (The waitress did remove that charge.) Wine and desserts were great. Waitress was friendly. I’ll write it off to the zoo-like atmosphere of NYE. We’ll be back as Boar’s Head is a favorite, just may try somewhere else next NYE.

Very friendly staff. Food was good, though pricier than I expected from a place called a “tavern”. I know this place has historic significance - I wish they had a placemat or something that explained their history to their customers. I am glad we got reservations - we saw many people being turned away!

Average. Pasta that came with stuffed shrimp was rather dry and flavorless Red velvet cake was obviously old. Service was great, thank you Kevin. Ambiance was great. My dining companion enjoyed her dinner very much.

Our server, Adrian was excellent and attentive. The food was superb. We both had she-crab soup appetizer, and my husband had bouillabaisse and I had filet and crabcake entrée. We were both very satisfied. This is our second trip to Savannah and boars head and we will be back next year. Love it and how do you recommend !

Boar’s Head has been a favorite of mine for many years. Felicia was absolutely fantastic, a tremendous representation of the restaurant and the service industry as a whole. Nicely done.
