Blue Door Kitchen & Garden, home to celebrated Chef Art Smith, is a farm-to-table oasis in the heart of Chicago’s Gold Coast and deeply rooted in the philosophy of letting the seasons dictate the menu. From its inception, the Blue Door brand has become synonymous with sustainability and responsible sourcing. We pride ourselves in showcasing dishes made from fresh, local ingredients sourced from Midwest farms.

Experience a chef-driven menu featuring everything from pierogis and market fresh salads, to Chef Art Smith’s famous buttermilk fried chicken. Walk-ins are always encouraged. Be sure to join us during the warmer weather months when the beautiful outdoor patio is open. While visiting, be sure to enjoy one of Blue Door Kitchen’s garden-to-glass cocktails, local beers or perfectly paired wines from our extensive list.

The cocktails were beautifully prepared. The deviled eggs and cornbread are wonderful with drinks or as appetizers. The shrimp and grits were tasty with the sausage adding some zest. The service was spot on. If you actuallly want to have a conversation with your dinner companions this is a great spot.

Incredible foood and ambiance in the sun room! It does get a bit loud out there, and I think servers who are serving the sun room should not be between inside and outside as it makes for a bit of a longer time waiting, but overall great experience! the chicken sandwich is incredible

Overall a great Sunday brunch spot! We sat outside in the patio and it was heated so good for a cold spring day. Chicken sandwich was a bit dry but the cocktails and outdoor patio were a great vibe! I LOVED the shrimp and grits and the service was great!

A wonderful dining experience thanks to the kind and helpful wait and service staff…along with delicious dishes the guest who ordered the shrimp and grits with andouille sausage the best he’d ever eaten. My Brussels & kale salad with generous and very tasty! And we all enjoyed the moist and flavorful cornbread. Hope to have reason to return soon! (Next time the hummingbird cake. None of us had room on this visit!)
