    First, we LOVE Black Olive and we came for the special Valentines fixed price dinner. The food we very good but the portions were significantly smaller than the regular menu with a higher price. I get it…with such high demand, you can charge what you want. But two dinners, two glasses of wine, and an iced tea should NOT cost more than $350!! So, it was good but not worth that much.

As a small family business of 27 years, we take great pride in offering a special experience while maintaining fairness in pricing. This year, the cost of premium ingredients like scallops and lobster tails has risen drastically, as has our commitment to paying our staff a living wage. Our Valentine’s Day pricing, which included fresh flowers, a champagne toast, and other extras, was disclosed upfront and remained competitive, if not lower, than many others. We are grateful for your love of The Black Olive and hope you’ll join us again to experience the care and dedication we put into every meal.

    We ordered appetizers of grilled scallops and octopus salad. Both had some char from the grill and were excellent. We had the whole Bronzino and whole Dover sole for entrees. They came with a side of a sweet potato mash. Each was perfectly prepared and presented. Each was as delicious as the other. We had mango sorbet and baklava ice cream for dessert. All of the food offerings were as good as food gets. We did have to ask our server for some things that we felt should have been readily offered to us. This said, the overall experience was excellent and we look forward to returning.

    We dined at the Black Olive to celebrate our 5th anniversary. The food was delicious. The seafood was fresh and everything was seasoned well. The staff was courteous and the atmosphere was fitting for our occasion. We will return.

    GREAT FOOD, service, and ambiance!! Evryone in our party raved about the food. We eached ortdered different things (whole sea bass fish, lobster pasta, lamb chops, rock fish kebobs), and they were ALL AAMAZING!! That is on top of the excellent wine selection Dimitris, the owner, picked out for us. Dimitris and his staff did a fabulous job making our group feel welcome for my wife's birthday dinner. Since we live in VA, we haven't been for a couple of years, but each time we go to Baltimore, The Black Olive is a must go for us. We're going to start making the drive to Baltimore more frequently!
