It was not their best night at Asti. I haven’t been in years - not since I lived in the neighborhood- so wanted to go again and unfortunately it was not as great as I remember. The floor was very sticky by the host stand which was a gross first impression for my dinner companion who had never been. We were sat on the end of the row at a two top and unfortunately servers continually bumped him in the back during service. I was unable to back up to give him more room as there was a full sized adult behind me… maybe one less table along that row would be advisable. We each ordered the only Cabernet by the glass but I think we got the house red. Dreadful. Boring. Warm. The bean dip and crostini’s were cold and the Caesar salad had some lovely anchovies but was otherwise unimpressive with its thick, sticky dressing. It could have used more pepper as well but three twists of the grinder each and then the chef ran away before we could comment for more. Every 10 minutes there was a loud crash from the kitchen - not a big deal in a busy restaurant on a Saturday but a little alarming. Service was otherwise slow as we finally had to ask to order our entrees. The famous carbonara had a delightfully crispy guanciale and perfectly cooked pasta, but wasn’t the rich eggy sauce I expected. We skipped dessert and went home early. The restaurant was excellent in my memory but now just average. Bummer.

Enjoyed a terrific couples night out this weekend. Food and service were terrific. Our waitress was amazing on all fronts, from recommendations and personal favorites to service. Highly recommend. Ben

We had cheese pizza, pork chop with veggies, home made pasta with Parmesan cheese. We like the cheese pizza, very Italian authentic. The pork chop is fried so it’s okay, but the veggies are well made.

Always love Asti’s atmosphere and food. We celebrated our anniversary with many of our old favorites: the fried artichokes to start, calamari, then two pastas - which they lovingly split into separate portions for us. We closed with affogato - always a treat. We paired the meal with a champagne starter and then a lovely Chianti. Altogether, a perfect evening.
