We have visited Savannah every year for the past 10 years. This is the first time we have eaten at 1790 and it is now on our “go to” list. Everything was awesome! Our waiter Jefferson was one of the best waiters I have ever had and the food / ambience was perfect.

1790 Restaurant provides a cozy, true Savannah experience! The menu is fabulous and each time I eat here I’m equally thrilled by my dinner choice! The servers are like old friends! I love the mood lighting and old tavern ambiance as well as the piano entertainment. Top notch!

My wife and I first ate at this restaurant some 15 years ago, and it was one of the highlights of our trip to Savannah. However, we were highly disappointed with our most recent visit. The staff was very friendly and attentive, and the ambience was wonderful. (We particularly liked the pianist, who was very good and played softly enough that he did not interfere with conversation.) The food, however, was a major disappointment. My wife had the shrimp and grits, which she didn't finish because the sauce was so overpowering. She couldn't even taste the shrimp. I ordered the Boursin Chicken, which was neither good nor bad -- just rather bland. It might have tasted better had it been served hot, but instead it was luke warm when it arrived, as if it had been prepared in advance, refrigerated and then inadequately heated in a microwave. Before I was halfway through, it had turned cold. I managed to finish the chicken. Of course, cold chicken isn't so bad, but cold mashed potatoes are another story; I couldn't finish them. Also (and I could be wrong about this), the mixed vegetables, rather than being fresh, appeared to have come from a can. As I said, this was a return trip to Savannah, and eating at 17 Hundred 90 was one of the things we were most looking forward to. Unfortunately, it turned out the be the worst meal we had during our visit.

Fabulous service. My husband enjoyed his food as he had shrimp scampi. I had the halibut, but I did not enjoy the sauce on top. It’s very noisy with people talking and there was someone playing the piano so the noise level was pretty high. All and all it was a pleasant experience.

Never again! Who puts pepper flakes on a Cabernet braised lamb shank? Just terrribly spicy hot! The waiter was very curt and grabbed the plate I was holding to explain how hot the lamb was. The mashed potato were good. Just not a great experience for our anniversary

We enjoyed our dinner at 17Hundred90 again! Every trip to Savannah, I plan an evening here. The restaurant is very relaxing with the piano music. The Service is great! Our server, Ernie, was very helpful in guiding us through a wonderful dining experience. The food was very good, as always. A favorite restaurant to enjoy a fun evening!
